About The Rankings Service
The Rankings Service was specially designed to serve independent
directors and chief compliance officers, plan sponsors, and other
principals and/or fiduciaries including investment advisors, and
private investors.
Drawing on TRS' proprietary database of the performance records
of individual and team portfolio managers of open- and closed-end
mutual funds, TRS ranks portfolio managers according to TRS’ proprietary
manager scoring template, and fund firms based on their underlying
managers’ performance using objective and measurable criteria,
consisting of end of day NAVs, appropriate benchmarks and peers
groups, together with standard and proprietary risk metrics, including
seasonal, cyclical, and technical criteria.
The Rankings Service is used as a primary resource for a unique
manager-focused performance analysis to inform fund screening,
selection, monitoring, measurement, evaluation, compensation, marketing
and performance reviews. TRS can also be used as an objective complement
to existing fund rating services.
TRS’ Reports can be used as a primary resource for compliance
officers and independent directors to provide firm-focused performance
analysis to enable objective and independent monitoring, measurement,
evaluation, marketing and performance reviews. As such, TRS’ Reports
complement existing asset-based analyses of the fund industry.
TRS’ individual manager-focused data and analytics is presently
available to specific segments of the independent advisor market,
most notably entitled users drawn from the approximately 80,000
advisors who use Pershing's Net Exchange Pro platform, and certain
customers
accessing
the
Bank of New York’s independent research platform: BNY Jaywalk.
Through existing TRS services, customers of Pershing and BNY Jaywalk
have the ability to provide their clients with proprietary performance
insights of the individual mutual fund managers.
Through TRS Reports, management, compliance officers and independent
directors have access to premium content, such as "The TRS
100," a list of the overall best performing individual and
team managers, and the "TRS Top 10" in each of 15 different
asset classes, and explanatory data and analytics and other premium
content.
